Further to popular demand (..!) Lou & Richard are organising another trip to the Rugby Chamber (based at the Hospital of St. Cross) to do a 50 metre dry dive.
Whilst a few of us have had a chance to do this for real, it’s a thing of legend for anyone that's had the opportunity to do it for fun, and if you haven’t done it yet then it’s a must do thing! So, the re-compression chamber has a very serious and important role to play, not just in diving incidents, but many other types of medical treatment as well. However, right now we’re simply focusing on the amazingly great fun you can have being narked off your face, in a safe controlled environment (seriously, Old MacDonald has never before sounded quite the way it does in the chamber…). But seriously, it is great chance for you to discover what really does happen to all those bubbles that are inside your body every time you go diving. A Hyperbaric Chamber supervisor will accompany us on the dive, and as well as this, the guys will ensure you know everything there is to know about what’s happening to those pesky little bubbles, what can go wrong with them and how the chamber can help to get rid of them. There is usually a water bottle or T-shirt to be had and if you’re really good, sometimes an encyclopaedia of diving gets thrown in too. We have a date of the 1st April (no, this will not be an April fools!!), and at a cost of only £40 per person (we need a minimum of 6 people), I'm sure places won't last long.....so get your name down quick. Hope to see you there Andy Hillier 01604 586156 www.divenorthampton.co.uk |
