The Rescue Course is open to anyone who has completed their Advanced Open Water Course and who feels confident in-water. The Oxygen and First Aid Courses are open to anyone. The Rescue Course is a pre-requisite for anyone wishing to progress to Master Scuba Diver or follow the PADI Professional route and become a Divemaster.
These Courses can be undertaken separately or for anyone looking to complete their Rescue Course, this consists of all 3 elements, one of which is optional but highly recommended:
Emergency First Response (CPR & First Aid Course). This is compulsory unless you have an alternative, current, CPR certification and takes 1⅓ full training days in the classroom. The first day can be used as the EFR Refresher Course for existing First Aiders.
Oxygen Administration. This is optional and requires ⅔ full classroom day. We normally combine the second First Aid day and the optional Oxygen Administration course into 1 full day of training. This allows us to integrate Oxygen use into the practice scenarios.
Rescue Course. 1 day of academics followed by at least 4 Sunday afternoon / Thursday evening pool sessions and 1 day at Stoney Cove for the practical Scenario session.
We will schedule the academic sessions to run on a Saturday or Sunday and the Confined Water sessions to run on a number of Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings for practice and catch-up. The PADI format for this course enables us to spend more time developing skills in the pool and finish off with a single day at Stoney Cove running through a number of realistic Rescue Scenarios.
Schedule for all elements:
Saturday 19th May 9:00am to 4:00pm - Emergency First Response Lectures incl. Defibrillator Training
Sunday 20th May 8:30am to 12:00pm - Oxygen Admin Specialty Lectures
