As usual, we are closed over much of Christmas so Club Members wanting kit for the Christmas period can collect it any time from now and return any kit when we reopen in the new year.
We'd like to wish all of customers, club members and divers a very happy Christmas and a great New Year!
Our holiday opening hours are on our website and shown below...
The new MTX-RC Regulator from Apeks.
Go warm, go cold, go deep, go anywhere. Enjoy control in the extreme with the MTX-RC scuba diving regulator. Combining rugged, military grade engineering with the super-smooth breathing experience that Apeks regulators are renowned for, the MTX-RC is the regulator that lets you explore more.Featuring the same freeze-resistant technology enjoyed by the whole MTX-R range, the MTX-RC resists free-flows in even the coldest temperatures, while offering the user the additional flexibility to adjust the settings for a more comfortable breathe in less extreme environments.
All this is achieved using an innovative first stage design that protects the regulator from freezing and a full set of user controls on the second stage to adjust the breathing performance based on the diver’s individual needs.
Includes a tactical style messenger bag to keep your regulators safe on your travels. Perfectly sized for a laptop, it’s also your new work bag!
So Stuff and Lou have decided they want to do the Northern Wrecks and Reefs Liveaboard next September, thought we’d do it as a trip and wondered if you fancied coming along. The date we are looking at is 5th September 2020 on Whirlwind, booking through Scuba Travel. The trip includes the Northern Wrecks and Reefs itinerary in a twin cabin (with another person unless you would like to pay an extra £350 to be on your own), EasyJet flights from Gatwick (and back), 7 nights on a full board basis, all marine park fees, 1 x 12litre tank, air fills and weight. They also include a hotel (Hilton Resort Hurghada) on the last day on a one room between two basis so you can have a kip, drop your bags or freshen up and they even feed you! They have a private beach, bars, sports facilities indoor and outdoor pools etc.
The Wrecks and Reefs itinerary gets to some of the most iconic dive sites Egypt has to offer, as well a few of lesser known beauties. After the check dive, this tour starts in style. Tiran and Ras Mohammed are rightly two of the best known areas for diving in the Northern Red Sea. The coral gardens play host to hundreds and thousands of candy coloured fish. The deep walls of Tiran mirror the startling drop offs of Ras Mohammed. Blue spotted sting rays, eagle rays and manta abound and the summer months see large pelagic sharks gather on the drop off. Cruising past Shark and Yolanda, Wrecks and Reefs takes in the Alternatives, Small Crack and Bluff Point before moving onto the wrecks. The Northern Red Sea is a wreck diver's delight. The almighty Thistlegorm is the setting for unforgettable diving, day or night. The Kingston, Dunraven, Giannis D and Carnatic only add to the excitement. These 19th and 20th century wrecks have, over the course of time, formed artificial reefs but each is still packed with unique artefacts that tell their story.
Stuff that isn’t included:
* Nitrox – this is an extra £60 per person
* Speciality Coffees and booze – The guys run an honesty tab or you can grab some at the airport to take on board
* Rental kit hire
* Entry Visa - £25 pre-paid before we go
* Tips for the crew
"What is the cost for all this endless fun"? I hear you cry. Well, the cost per person (EXCLUDING the list above) is £1,495. However, if we get a full boat of 22 peeps (which is what I am intending) we get a 12% discount which will be split amongst the entire group. We have been several times before and have always had an absolute blast and we are very much hoping you would like to join us. If you are interested, can you let me know ASAP – we will then need to pay a £250 per person deposit to Scuba Travel to secure the places, followed by a £250 interim payment in March and the balance in June.
HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE – if you agree that you are going and pay your deposit, you are under an obligation to pay the total cost of your trip. If you decide to drop out of the trip YOU WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SHARE. If you get someone to go in your place, YOU will be responsible for any costs or fees incurred changing the name on the trip. By paying the deposit you are agreeing to these terms.
