The Government has not indicated when Lockdown easing may be implemented for pools and leisure facilities so we are simply forced to wait until they announce a change. Any courses that have been booked will be re-scheduled once the restrictions have been lifted and we have an idea of what options are available. To ensure that no one misses out on their course, the usual 6 month expiry date from the date of booking for courses has been extended to 6 months following the lifting of the Lockdown restrictions that allow us to access the pool and the Open Water facilities. That being said, things are changing rapidly so we advise everyone to check the website at regular intervals to check for any updates and get the latest information. In line with current medical advice, we would also ask that all people who meet the criteria for self-isolation or are in the high-risk categories to stay at home. Revised opening times: Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm Finally, we would like to express the hope that everyone manages to cope through these troubling times. We've been advised that Stoney Cove and many other in-land sites remain open and with the spring weather coming along, the coast could be an option, so as things stand, there is no excuse not to go diving. All the team DIVE Northampton ![]() Darren, one of our dive staff, has organised another trip over to Rugby to play with the Chamber in the evening of Thursday 30th April. The wonderful guys at Midlands Diving Chamber are giving us the chance to do a 50 metre Dry Dive, all for only £40. The event goes as follows: Everything kicks off at 6:30pm at MDC and starts with a power point presentation with a brief on what they do at the chamber and the dive profile you will complete. They will then load us into the chamber for the dive. They have a neuro indicator for us to complete at depth and they also put a ball/balloons, 6mm neoprene and other toys into the chamber so we can see the effects of the gas laws taking place. We can also take our dive computers and underwater cameras with housings in with us. The 50m dive lasts 48 minutes with 28 minutes of decompression. 27 of these minutes will be spent on 100% 02 for safety so we will leave the chamber with less nitrogen in us than before we started the dive. There will then be a debrief of the dive and a look around the chamber panel and an explanation on how they operate the chamber. Total time with MDC is approximately 2½ hours depending on how many questions we have. We are also giving you a chance to complete the DIVE Northampton SSI Chamber Workshop at the same time which simply adds a further £10 to the cost. For this, you will receive a recognition certification on your SSI App. Key Facts:
To book, simply let me know ASAP and drop your Payment in to the shop or if you’re really stuck, pay by card over the phone.
